Ugh! and Double Ugh! Blogs Suck

O.K.last night I spent an effing lifetime on a stupid post....I was so pleased with myself, told a stupid story about a pet chipmunk, blah blah...then when I went to check it out with the blasted "preview" button, I accidently hit the white "x" in the red box in the upper right hand corner and poooof, eeeefffffffinnnnnggg pooof the whole g. d. thing was gone...I hate this blog. Why doesn't it say, "Are you sure you want to nava-fucking-gate away"...like it does for every other bloody dam thing you do..."are you sure of this are sure of that!?" O.K. so now what? I have blown my cover...I have a terrible potty mouth, so sue me.

So I was going to show you this stupid picture I took of a stupid road sign some meathead put up...ha ha. O.k. so whatever. I have this other picture of a sock I knit by a Rocket Scientist I only made one because to put this dam double sole on the bottom was a super complicated but intriguing thing. Anyway, I don't know how much more of this blogging stuff I am going to do...it takes too much time away from knitting, but I did hear that lil' H might be back. I guess you will just have to check from time to time. How do I get rid of the dam underline on my link ..ish. What a grump.

Happy Halloween! I'm back!

Dear Junknitting readers,
If there are any left. I put some spyware on my computer, and it put the ki-bosh on my ability to create a new post...it's fixed now. Who could of quessed just how scary this year would be...I took this photo in Nov. of 2004 in Racine, Wisconsin, while working on the Kerry campaign...Kerry took Wisconsin because "security" moms were not fooled by Bush's rhetoric...I hope that everyone is so outraged that they will get active in 2006 and change the face of our country's so-called leadership.
More knitting to come, a lot of knitting going on.
Please leave a note if you visted...so I don't think I am operating in cybervoid.

Intarsia Sweater From H.E. Double Hockey Sticks

A number of years ago I found this Jo Sharp pattern. I loved the intarsia border, but wasn't crazy about the fru fru design on top...it's o.k. for some people but I am not a fru fru ee kind of gal. So....

I knit the border...this will quickly make you crazy. My husband thought I was completely off my rocker when I was knitting this because if you look closely some rows have at least a ba-zillion colors....yellow, brown, white, black, white, black, white, tan, blue and on and on. You have to knit this junk on lonnnnnngggg straight needles or you'll drive yourself bonkers. I asked my husband if he would like to learn to knit, and he said he would rather spend time in a maximum security prison...geeze!

Then you have to weave all the dam little ends in, and if you knit with special knitters like Betsy T. whose knitting is perfection and you can't tell the inside from the outside, you try to weave everything in so tidily you start to feel inadequate. But it turned out fine in the end...

Like I said I wasn't crazy about all the googahee flowers, not that the design wasn't amazing, it truly was inspired...but I am just kind of a plain girl from the Great Plains (or Oak Savanahs) so I knit random acts of color instead of flowers. Sorry about the bad photo...

So Here she be. I wasn't crazy about the neck or the sleeves' cuff either, so I toned those down a bit too.

A wise cracker I worked with told me I looked like I was wearing hot pads. Some peoples kids! He's gone now anyway.

This blogging stuff is really cutting into my knitting time.

O.K. one more post for my Secret Pal - Daisy

The first packet my sweet secret pal sent me contained two skeins of different shades of pink Cascade worsted. I knit the socks, with a wee bit of black...you always have to have black somewhere, it is so sophisticated.

Daisy my secret pal is too generous of mind, spirit, kindess and treasure. Thanks again Daisy for helping me to knit pink.

An Old Favorite

Generally I like to make up my own patterns. However, several years ago I discovered this pattern in a motley knitting magazine. I picked colors that were available locally, but otherwise I can't claim this as my own. This is done intarsia. The one design element I did add was the four inch black border, which it really needed. The next project I will post will be my intarsia project from hell...more than 99 bobbins hanging down, flipping here and flipping there! The sweater is quite spectacular however. ...Hi Jackie and Cheryl...secret knitting buds!

Sow's Ear to Silk Purse

This is a little bag I made this summer. Several years ago I purchased a bunch of Cascade worsted weight wool to make an afghan for our cabin, like the one I will show in another post...I am too le tired to make another afghan so I decided to make up a bunch of bags, with dots...I love polka dots, and grids. This is the first of what I hope is many colorful bags. I hate junk floating around in my bag (purse) so I knit a swatch and gently and loosely sewed it into the interior of the bag...it seemed to work...I will refine and refine...I have many ideas. When I started this blog I had no unfinished knitting projects now I have three...more to come soon. Ever yours, Junk Knitter.
